Island Brew Coffeehouse is one of my favorite places on Oahu for 100% Hawaiian Grown cold brew and quick breakfasts. It’s also one of the most scenic cafes to enjoy a coffee and watch the sunrise next to Koko Head. I had no idea it existed until I had the chance to explore Hawaii Kai, the southeast town right next to Koko Head. If you’re in the area or on your way towards the eastern side of the island, I HIGHLY recommend you make a stop here!
When I’m on the island, I always go for the local flavors I usually can’t get anywhere else. I am addicted to their taro bagels, but the other bagels flavors are excellent if they’re out of taro! Seriously, these may just be some of the best bagels I’ve had (and I’m from the east coast!)
In addition to great cold brew, lattes, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches, you really can’t beat the seating situation. The cafe interior is covered in paintings and prints made by local artists that you can by if you see something you like! If you prefer to sit outside, you can grab a seat right next to the water or pick a spot under the unique curved palm tree that always made me smile during my morning coffee runs.
The line can get pretty long in the morning, especially when an F45 fitness class gets out next door. Luckily, Island Brew has an online order-ahead option and curbside pickup if you’re in a rush!

Island Brew has another location at Ala Moana! I haven’t had the chance to stop there yet, but I’m sure it’s on par with my favorite Hawaii Kai spot.
